Buddhism for Busy People: Finding Happiness in an Uncertain World, David Michie (Allen & Unwin, $24.95)
AAHH, the dilemma of those populating the modern Western world - what does it take to be happy? If not wealth and affluence, then what? The search for the answer to that often asked question has filled countless books, been the fodder for a multitude of sitcomes and movies and the topic of many late-night conversation. This book aims to explore the question through the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism and is the author's personal account of how the religion helped give his daily life greater meaning. Michie condenses the virtues of Buddhism into a reasonable easy-to-navigate text that may go some way to answering the big question, or at least provide a starting point for introspection.
